Training & Professional Qualifications

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy (distinction). I trained at SCPTI in Scarborough, where I am a member and adhere to the ethical standards and code of conduct. I am also an accredited member of the UKCP, as well as having membership of various gestalt therapy organisations to stay connected to the national and international psychotherapy community.

I regularly undertake additional training to widen my perspective and update my knowledge. Below is a selection of workshops and training I have attended:

How can gestalt therapy help?

Gestalt therapy invites us to meet experience as it unfolds — not to fix or explain it, but to understand what it reveals about how we live and relate. I see therapy as a dialogue between two people, each bringing curiosity and presence to what emerges between us.

Rather than searching for a single truth or diagnosis, we pay attention to the nuances of your experience: how you make contact, what interrupts it, and what wants to be expressed. Through awareness, new responses become possible, and energy that was once bound in old patterns can move towards growth and integration.

Equality and Anti-Discrimination

I am committed to providing a therapy space that is free from discrimination and prejudice. As a UKCP-accredited practitioner, I practise within their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice, which requires me to actively consider diversity and equality in my work (point 29) and never let prejudice about a client's sex, age, race, disability, sexuality, religion, or other such factors affect how I work with them, or behave in ways that could be experienced as abusive or detrimental on those grounds (points 30–31). Beyond that baseline, my own practice is explicitly queer-affirmative and trans-inclusive. I welcome clients of all genders and gender identities, and if you ever feel unsafe or unwelcome in our work together, I want to know, so it can be addressed directly.

About Me

When I am not working, I can be found walking a labyrinth or learning a new language. Nature is my sanctuary, where I find peace and inspiration. I like to run outdoors. Spirituality is also a significant part of my life, allowing me to seek deeper meaning and connection. I explore my creativity in poetry and writing, and find solace in music and art.
